It is with great pleasure that I endorse Gar Gar for the position of City Councillor for Ward 9 in
Calgary.
I have known Gar for a number of years, and we have always shared the same passion for
working with youth in our city. His commitment to seeing young people succeed is a testament
to his genuine care for Calgary’s future. The experience, dedication, and compassion he brings
to youth work are remarkable—especially in today’s world. The lengths Gar will go to help
young people achieve success are truly inspiring.
Gar has spent many years helping youth navigate the transition from adolescence to
adulthood. His well-known program, YES (Youth Empowerment Services), provides
opportunities for young people to flourish, building both skills and confidence.
I have had the privilege of working alongside Gar on numerous occasions in Calgary schools,
speaking to students about making smart life choices. Together, we have also visited the
Calgary Young Offender Centre (CYOC) multiple times to hold roundtable discussions with
incarcerated youth. In these sessions, Gar shares valuable insights on the impact of choices and
reminds them that it is never too late to turn their lives around. His bicycle program is another
initiative widely recognized and appreciated by youth across Calgary.

Gar Gar will be a strong, dedicated councillor for Ward 9—someone who will advocate for
our youth, promote public safety, and bring a wealth of community experience to City Council.
